The Charlotte School of Law’s interim dean announced Thursday morning that he is stepping down from his role after spending less than a month on the job.Typical media, focusing on the negative.
Professor Scott Broyles sent an email to the faculty and students at the law school announcing his resignation. He did not give a reason, but said he plans to continue as a faculty member and do everything he can to help the school.
Let's rewrite this one. ScamSpin Power ON!
President, Charlotte, NCThis pessimism, this insistence to phrase everything as law school is bad that slants the world as-if Charlotte Law School is a festering pus-oozing wound being prepped for surgical excision, is fake news at its finest.
Sexy start-up with backing from Sterling Partners seeks entrepreneurial-minded rock-star to manage broad portfolio of educational products. Background with innovative consumer finance and artfully navigating federal regulations a plus. Candidates with a Juris Doctor - or a Juris Doctorate! - strongly preferred. Despite being in North Carolina, diversity welcome, encouraged even! Opportunities for advancement are endless. Last person in position excelled and rapidly moved to greener pastures. Right candidate with receive nothing but patience and administrative support following long list of successful executives; employees "will do everything [they] can to help."
Note: Charlotte Law School alumni need not apply. We're not that desperate.
Charlotte is a cruise ship in need of a captain. If you love shuffleboard, and can find creative ways to harvest tuition cash from a generation of hapless, hopeful schmucks, hop aboard!
I nominate Captain Smith of the White Star Line!
ReplyDeleteNearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me,
Still all my song shall be,
Nearer, my God, to thee;
Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down,
Darkness be over me, my rest a stone;
Yet in my dreams I'd be
Nearer, my God, to thee;
Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
There let the way appear, steps unto heaven;
All that thou sendest me, in mercy given;
Angels to beckon me
Nearer, my God, to thee;
Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
Then, with my waking thoughts bright with thy praise,
Out of my stony griefs Bethel I'll raise;
So by my woes to be
Nearer, my God, to thee;
Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
Or if, on joyful wing cleaving the sky,
Sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I fly,
Still all my song shall be,
Nearer, my God, to thee;
Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
How much does the position pay?
ReplyDeleteObviously it would be a temporary position, of uncertain but short duration.
"Note: Charlotte Law School alumni need not apply. We're not that desperate."
ReplyDeleteMy favorite line. So true, so true. Notice how just about every "higher education" institution in the country would rather hire high school grads than their own grads. (Even my own; believe me, I checked!)
And excellent post overall, too!
